About the Opportunity
The Clinical Nurse Consultant Surgery is an expert clinical nurse providing leadership and advise on all aspects of surgical nursing, working across Surgical Services at Gosford Hospital and Surgery, Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Services at Wyong Hospital. The role has a significant contribution towards all matters relating to high-quality, safe nursing practice, and works collaboratively to formulate and implement policy and guide practice development.
This position supports excellence through expert advice, education, research and service development. In this role you will:
- Provide expert clinical leadership and consultancy to drive high-quality, evidence-based nursing care across multidisciplinary teams and services.
- Lead practice development, quality improvement and service innovation initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
- Collaborate with clinicians, managers, community partners and education providers to support integrated, patient-centred care.
- Contribute to workforce capability through clinical supervision, mentorship, education and professional development activities.
Influence the future of nursing practice through research, strategic service planning and the implementation of organisational change.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Holds a current AHPRA registration with at least seven years post registration experience, including five years in the specialty and relevant postgraduate qualifications
- A proven clinical leader who can influence practice, drive change and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and improving patient outcomes.
- An excellent communicator with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex healthcare environment.
Committed to education, mentorship and continuous improvement, with a collaborative approach to service development and innovation.
