We are looking for an experienced People Experience Manager – Learning & Capability to lead the design and delivery of enterprise learning, leadership and workforce capability strategies that support our business ambitions and prepare our people for the future of work.
This is a highly influential role within our People & Culture team, partnering across the business to build a connected learning ecosystem that strengthens leadership effectiveness, accelerates talent, embeds contemporary ways of working and helps our people thrive in a changing retail environment.
In this role, you will lead the enterprise learning and capability agenda for David Jones, ensuring our investment in capability is aligned to measurable business outcomes, commercial priorities and our future workforce needs.
You will:
- Develop and execute an enterprise-wide learning and capability strategy aligned to business priorities, workforce plans and our Vision 2030+ ambitions.
- Design enterprise capability frameworks and learning architecture that provide clarity on critical skills, leadership expectations and future workforce requirements.
- Lead the development of leadership programs that build leaders who can confidently embrace AI, emerging technologies, transformation and performance.
- Create talent acceleration pathways for emerging leaders and high-potential talent.
- Partner with People Business Partners and senior leaders to identify capability, leadership and succession gaps.
- Build learning experiences that are scalable, contemporary, practical and embedded in the flow of work.
- Oversee leadership, compliance and capability learning portfolios to ensure they meet business, legislative and workforce needs.
- Drive continuous improvement across learning platforms, systems and digital learning experiences.
- Use data, insights and feedback to evolve programs, measure impact and demonstrate value.
- Act as a trusted advisor across People & Culture and the broader business on learning, leadership and future workforce capability.
You are a strategic and commercially minded learning and capability leader who can translate business strategy into practical, scalable and engaging learning solutions. You are confident influencing senior stakeholders, leading enterprise-wide programs and building capability that drives measurable outcomes.
You will bring:
- Significant experience leading enterprise learning, leadership development or capability functions.
- Demonstrated success designing capability strategies that support transformation, business performance and workforce readiness.
- Experience developing leadership, talent acceleration and succession-focused programs.
- Strong understanding of contemporary learning practices, future workforce trends and organisational change.
- Knowledge of AI, emerging technologies and their application to workforce capability and learning.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to measure outcomes and demonstrate value realisation.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and advisory skills.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across complex organisations.
- Strong analytical capability and confidence using data and insights to shape decisions.
- A degree in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, Learning, Business or a related discipline.
- Facilitation, leadership development or coaching accreditation would be highly regarded.
