St Hilda’s School, Gold Coast invites applications for the following Sports Coach opportunities:

Volleyball

Athletics Throws Specialist

Badminton.
Training Requirements:
-
All positions typically involve up to 2 training sessions per week (before or after school).
Competition Requirements:
-
Volleyball coaching - includes competition days on Saturday during Term 3 (18 July – 19 September 2026).
- Athletics Throws Specialist – no Saturday competitions, however the QGSSSA Athletics Championship event will be held on the final day of Term 3 (17 September 2026).

Badminton coaching - no Saturday competitions during Term 3, however the competition is held on the first two Saturdays of Term 4 (10 October & 17 October, 2026).
We are seeking experienced, passionate and dedicated Sports Coaches to join our thriving sporting program at St Hilda’s School. We are part of the Queensland Girls Secondary Schools Sports Association (QGSSSA), which is the leading Queensland sports association for secondary school girls. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and coach aspiring young women, foster their love of sport, and help them develop their skills, confidence and belief that they she can be anything.

About the Position
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Design and deliver high-quality coaching sessions that cater to varying skill levels and abilities
- Develop age-appropriate training programs that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Mentor and motivate students to achieve their personal best both on and off the field
- Coordinate and attend sporting fixtures, carnivals, and competitions
- Foster a positive, inclusive sporting culture that encourages participation and celebrates effort
- Collaborate with Director of Sport, Assistant Director of Sport, Sports Administrators and other coaches to support the school's broader sporting program
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students during training and competition.
About You
-
Relevant coaching qualifications (preferred) in the sport you are applying for and at least 3 years’ coaching experience
- Strong understanding of skill progression and age-appropriate training methods
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students
- Commitment to promoting confidence, resilience, and leadership through sport
- Understanding of the unique considerations in coaching girls and young women
- Enthusiasm for creating an inclusive environment where all students feel valued
