Ellis Family Hotels is proud to have expanded its operations and now owns and operates the historic Centennial Hotel in Gulgong, alongside the Prince of Wales Hotel Gulgong.
With more than 40 years of experience in the hotel industry, our family-owned business has earned numerous awards for its quality pub dining and accommodation. Located in the heart of Gulgong, the Centennial Hotel is just 20 minutes from the award-winning tourism destination of Mudgee and approximately 3½ hours from Sydney.
We are seeking an experienced, responsible and highly motivated Senior Cook to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be confident, positive and passionate about consistency, teamwork and delivering quality food.
You will work in a structured, productive and fast-paced environment alongside an established, diverse and energetic team. You will also help us maintain our traditional values and consistently high standards of food quality, service and workplace culture.
Applicants must have at least three years of experience in a high-volume kitchen. This is not an entry-level position and is not suitable for recent graduates.
Salary
This is a full-time position offering a salary of $75,000–$85,000 plus superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.
Main duties
- Prepare, cook and serve meals in accordance with current menus and recipes
- Manage stock effectively while minimising waste
- Support and guide less-experienced kitchen staff
- Help ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations
- Maintain kitchen areas in accordance with food-safety standards
- Check the accuracy and quality of incoming supplies
- Prepare meals for special dietary requirements
- Assist with menu planning and development
- Follow all company policies and procedures
