Rolan Australia is a leading online retailer of replacement and performance passenger car parts, known for deep product knowledge and strong customer service. We are looking for a parts interpreter to own our phone enquiries and be the technical authority the rest of the team turns to.
This is a full-time, office-based role at our Seven Hills site, Monday to Friday. The focus is phone support: talking customers through their vehicle, identifying the right parts and handling the harder questions, including performance and aftermarket fitment, that the catalogue alone cannot answer. You will also pick up the complex written queries that need a specialist eye.
What you will do
- Handle inbound phone enquiries, interpreting what the customer needs and matching it to the correct part for their vehicle
- Confirm fitment, compatibility, pricing and availability across a wide range of makes and models
- Advise on performance and aftermarket parts where standard catalogue data does not have the answer
- Use electronic catalogues and industry software including AutoInfo Oscar, TecDoc and supplier catalogues
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve product, availability and sourcing queries
- Spot opportunities to recommend complementary parts and add value to the sale
- Step in on the technical written queries the wider customer team escalates
What we are looking for
- Strong automotive knowledge, whether from a parts counter, the workshop or hands-on experience with vehicles
- Confidence on the phone with both trade and retail customers
- The knack for taking a customer's description and working out exactly what they need
- Familiarity with electronic parts catalogues and lookup systems, ideally AutoInfo Oscar or TecDoc
- Proactive, accurate and quick to pick up new software
Prior experience interpreting parts is highly valued. You do not need to be a qualified mechanic. We are after genuine parts, product knowledge, and strong customer handling.
