Creative Operations & Market Assistant

I’m looking for someone practical, reliable and people-oriented to help support my creative business, Emerging Hermit.
This is a small, hands-on role supporting me with markets, product preparation and my poetry/creative work. I’m not looking for someone to manage the whole business, I need someone who can work alongside me and help turn small tasks into practical action.
What you’ll help with
Markets & Products
- Prepare products and stock for markets every two weeks.
- Pack, label and organise products and display materials.
- Help with market setup and pack down.
- Assist during markets and interact with customers.
- Answer basic questions about my products, workshops and creative work.
Customer & Opportunity Support
- Help engage with people at markets.
- Introduce people to my workshops and other creative offerings.
- Recognise potential opportunities such as retail contacts, collaborations or workshop participants.
- Help create a welcoming experience for customers and visitors.
Poetry & Creative Projects
- Help organise and sort through my existing poetry.
- Assist with organising poems into collections or themes.
- Research poetry nights, performance opportunities and suitable venues.
- Help keep track of opportunities to share and present my work.
Who I’m looking for
You’ll suit this role if you are:
- Reliable and organised.
- Comfortable working independently on small tasks.
- Friendly and confident speaking with people.
- Practical and happy to get involved with packing, setup and pack down.
- Interested in creativity, poetry, art or community.
- Able to take initiative without needing constant direction.
- Comfortable working alongside an independent artist and adapting as priorities change.
You don't need to be an expert in marketing, poetry or business. A willingness to learn, communicate and contribute is more important.
The role
The work will be casual and flexible, with the main recurring commitment being support around markets every two weeks. Additional tasks will arise between markets depending on what needs to be done.
This is an opportunity to become involved in a growing independent creative project and help build something that combines art, poetry, products, workshops and community.

Pay: $50.00 – $300.00 per day
