Introduction:
Operations Manager – Airports & SAN Hospital
Sydney | Full-Time
This is an opportunity to take the lead across a high-profile, multi-site hospitality portfolio spanning Sydney’s Domestic and International Airports and SAN Hospital.
Cater Care is looking for an accomplished Operations Manager who can bring energy, commercial discipline and genuine leadership to a complex and diverse operation.
This is more than managing sites. It’s about leading people, building strong connections, strengthening partnerships, driving performance and creating operational excellence across environments where service matters every day.
It’s a role where you’ll need to be equally comfortable looking at the bigger picture and being close to what’s happening on the ground — understanding your people, knowing your clients, solving problems and finding opportunities to make things better.
Description:
About the opportunity
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple high-profile hospitality sites across Sydney’s Domestic and International Airports and SAN Hospital. The sites include a mixture of bars, cafes, QSRs and restaurants.
You’ll provide strategic and hands-on leadership across the portfolio, ensuring our teams consistently deliver outstanding service, quality, safety and financial performance.
You’ll also play an important role in bringing people together — connecting our teams, clients and support functions around a shared focus on doing great work.
Key responsibilities will include
- Lead and inspire a diverse, multi-site operational team across airports and healthcare environments.
- Build strong, genuine relationships with clients and key stakeholders, becoming a trusted operational partner.
- Create connections across your teams and build a culture where people feel supported, valued and accountable.
- Drive operational excellence, service standards and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety, workplace health and safety, airport security and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute business plans that support financial performance, growth and customer satisfaction.
- Coach, mentor and develop Site Managers and frontline teams, building capability and confidence across the operation.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, innovation and the customer experience.
- Manage operational budgets, labour performance, costs and key financial targets.
- Work collaboratively with support functions including People & Culture, Finance, Safety, Quality and Procurement.
- Ensure Cater Care’s values of Care, Pride and Community are reflected in everything we do.
Skills and Experiences:
About you
You’re an experienced operations leader who enjoys being hands-on, visible and connected to your teams.
You’re commercially astute, highly organised and confident operating across multiple sites and stakeholder groups. You know how to balance the needs of your people, your clients and the business — and you understand that strong operational performance starts with strong relationships.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience as a multi-site hospitality Operations Manager.
- Strong commercial and financial management capability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- A strong understanding of WHS, food safety, quality and compliance.
- A solutions-focused mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- The confidence and resilience to operate in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
- A genuine commitment to creating great experiences for customers, clients and employees.
- A leadership style that brings people together, builds trust and creates a strong sense of connection.
- Able to obtain an ASIC Card
- Your own vehicle or reliable transport to travel across to the sites
