As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the ATSICHS Aboriginal Health Worker Trainee is a role initiated to support community members by providing a culturally appropriate environment whilst attaining Primary Health IV qualification. The role is supported by the clinic team and overseen by the Practice Manager. Trainees undertake work-based learning whilst at the same time are studying. They are required to be committed to complete the 12-month traineeship.
Duties
Work collaboratively with Practice Manager and Aboriginal Health Worker team to learn and apply processes. This includes utilising relevant assessment, care planning and goal setting methods/tools.
Maintain positive relationships with community organisations, hospitals, and other stakeholders.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of ATSICHS Policy and procedures in line with AGPAL Accreditation Standards.

Base Salary of $45,000 per annum (Based on qualification and experience).
12% Super + access to salary packaging (Increases your take home pay).
Fixed Term Full Time for up to 12 months position.

Skills and Experiences:
Required
An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
Previous experience working in an administration and /or service coordination role.
National Police Certificate.
Current Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.
Evidence of Work Rights.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with an electronic Patient Management System such as MMEx.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and understand the cycle of care patient system.
- Driver's Licence.
