Assistant Manager – Busy Shopping Centre Café
We’re looking for an energetic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at our fast-paced café located in a busy cafe. We are known for exceptional coffee, fresh food, and outstanding service – and we need someone who shares our passion for excellence.
As Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the café. You’ll support the Manager in leading a motivated team, ensuring high standards are consistently met across food, coffee, and customer service. You’ll also step up and take full responsibility when the Manager is not on site.
Key Responsibilities
*Delivering exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming environment for all guests.
*Supervising, training, and motivating a team of baristas, floor staff, and kitchen hands.
*Hands-on work as a barista and in food service, maintaining the highest quality standards.
*Assisting with staff rostering, ordering, stock control, and daily café operations.
*Upholding café standards for presentation, cleanliness, and efficiency.
*Supporting management with financial targets and operational goals.
About You
*Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role in a busy café or hospitality environment.
*Strong skills in both barista work and food service.
*A passion for customer service, with the ability to lead by example.
*Excellent communication and people management skills.
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
*Flexibility to work across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as required.
