Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Telecommunications Technical Officer / Technologist to join our team in Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, installation, configuration, and commissioning of telecommunications systems and network equipment.
- Monitor, test, and maintain telecommunications infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Diagnose technical faults and coordinate corrective maintenance activities.
- Conduct network performance analysis and prepare technical reports on system operations and service quality.
- Support the implementation of telecommunications projects, including fibre optic, wireless, and data communication systems.
- Assist with integrating new equipment and technologies into existing telecommunications networks.
- Ensure compliance with telecommunications standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders regarding technical requirements and service delivery.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, installation records, and maintenance reports.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for telecommunications equipment and services.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant qualification in Telecommunications Engineering, Telecommunications Technology, Electronics, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant telecommunications industry experience (or as required by the position).
- Sound knowledge of telecommunications networks, transmission systems, fibre optic technologies, and communication equipment.
- Experience in network testing, fault diagnosis, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and network documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Current Australian driver's licence preferred.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with fibre optic installation and testing.
- Knowledge of wireless, IP networking, and telecommunications transmission systems.
- Familiarity with Australian telecommunications standards and industry practices.
- Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
