We’re looking for a strong Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at The Fox Hole - a premium cocktail bar and dining venue in Sydney’s historic Rocks district.
This role could suit an experienced Sous Chef, or a strong Chef de Partie ready to take the next step in a quality-focused venue. We’re open to chefs with strengths on either the operational or creative side of the kitchen - whether that’s leading calm, organised service or contributing ideas around menus, events and food experiences.
Alongside nightly dining service, The Fox Hole delivers spirit tastings, five-course gin dinners, high tea experiences on weekends, seasonal activations and private events. The kitchen works closely with the bar and floor team to create food experiences that feel thoughtful, polished and genuinely memorable.
This is a hands-on role working closely with venue leadership and a growing kitchen team. The successful candidate will have genuine opportunity to contribute to the direction of the food offering while helping maintain strong day-to-day kitchen operations and service standards.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience in a quality-focused kitchen
- Calm and organised during busy service periods
- Strong presentation and attention to detail
- Genuine interest in hospitality and guest experience
- Someone who enjoys collaboration and contributing ideas
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience)
- Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain)
Experience with tasting menus, events or premium hospitality venues is highly regarded.
Pay: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
