What you will get to do
As Assistant Cook – Positive Ageing, you will:

Prepare and deliver high-quality meals, café offerings and catering services
-
Create a variety of savouries, cakes, pastries and other menu items.

Support and work alongside kitchen volunteers to deliver exceptional service
-
Help plan menus, manage stock and maintain food safety standards
-
Contribute to positive customer experiences and meaningful community connections

Ensure that meals are provided in considering the needs and preferences of aged care funded clients through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)

Work collaboratively with the Positive Ageing team to support older people in our community.
Who you are
You are passionate about food, enjoy working with people and take pride in creating positive experiences for customers.
You bring a positive attitude, thrive in a busy environment and understand how a great meal can bring people together. Whether you are preparing food, supporting volunteers or helping deliver a community event, you are reliable, organised and committed to delivering quality every time.
You bring:

Experience preparing a variety of quality meals, baked goods and catering items

Knowledge of dietary requirements, food safety legislation and safe food handling practices

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

A customer-focused approach and commitment to service excellence

The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A genuine desire to contribute to the wellbeing of older people in our community
