We are a passionate team of entrepreneurs with big aspirations to grow our retail presence in Hahndorf through a unique selection of German-inspired stores. Proud of our German heritage, our mission is to ensure every visitor to Hahndorf enjoys a genuine taste of German culture.

The Role
We are looking to expand our intimate retail team with motivated individuals who are excited to learn and develop a wide range of skills across customer service, sales, and inventory management.
Key Details:
- Minimum of 2 full days per week (ideally 2-4 days with more shifts available in holiday seasons)
- Weekend availability is essential (busiest trade periods)
- Casual role with pathway to part-time or full-time employment
- Shifts across both stores (The German Village Shop & The German Village Kandle Haus), located only 80m apart in Hahndorf’s main street
- Weekday hours: 10am – 5pm | Weekend hours: 9:30am – 5:30pm
- Public holiday and school holiday availability required
What You’ll Be Doing
Promotional Retail Tasks
- Wearing traditional German attire as uniforms
- Educating visitors on the history, culture, and uses of our German products (Cuckoo Clocks, Christmas decorations, candle-making, and more)
- Providing engaging and memorable experiences – you may even be asked for a photo by visitors!
General Retail Tasks
- Customer service and sales transactions
- Assisting with stock processing and inventory
- Responding to customer enquiries (in-store and via email)
