Sizzle N Sambar is a well-established Indian restaurant based Victoria Park and Willetton in Western Australia, known for delivering authentic, high-quality cuisine. We are seeking an experienced and passionate full-time cook to join our growing team.
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Chef to lead and contribute to the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Indian cuisine to consistently high standards. This is a hands-on, senior kitchen role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook a wide range of Indian and contemporary dishes
- Design, develop, and update menus in line with seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Supervise, train, and coordinate kitchen staff including cooks and kitchen hands
- Ensure all food preparation meets strict hygiene, food safety, and quality standards
- Monitor food stock levels, order supplies, and manage kitchen inventory
- Control portion sizes and minimise food wastage
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
- Collaborate with management on costing, pricing, and menu engineering
Required Qualifications and Experience :
- Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent recognised qualification
- Minimum 1 year of post-qualification full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant experience as a Chef
- If no trade qualification then a minimum 3 years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant experience as a Chef
All candidates must also demonstrate:
- Ability to lead and manage a kitchen team
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene regulations and food safety practices
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Job Type: Permanent Full-time
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum (plus Superannuation)
