About the Role
The main duties and responsibilities of a ‘Civil Engineer’ at Build and Pour Pty Ltd include the following but not limited to:
- Plan, design and oversee the construction of residential, commercial and civil engineering projects to ensure works are completed safely, on time and within budget.
- Prepare, review and interpret engineering designs, technical drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering standards, project specifications and relevant Australian regulations.
- Coordinate with architects, surveyors, contractors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders to facilitate efficient project delivery.
- Assess site conditions, identify engineering risks and develop practical solutions to resolve technical and construction issues.
- Prepare project schedules, cost estimates and engineering reports while monitoring project progress against established timelines and budgets.
- Ensure all engineering works comply with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental standards and relevant building codes.
- Review construction materials, methods and quality control processes to ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate project records, technical documentation and progress reports for management and clients.
- Assist management with project planning, contract administration, cost control and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve successful project outcomes.
Qualification, Skills and Experience
- Possesses a relevant bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Has 3–5 years of solid working experience as a Civil Engineer in residential, commercial or civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design principles, construction methodologies and relevant Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC).
- Experience in project planning, site supervision, contract administration and construction management.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical engineering solutions.
- Knowledgeable in engineering software, construction documentation, cost estimation and project scheduling.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar programs.
- Motivated, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality engineering outcomes while maintaining workplace health and safety standards.
Pay: $100,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
