What You’ll Be Doing
The Orchard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all orchard activities to ensure optimal productivity, quality outcomes, and efficient use of resources.
Orchard Operations & Productivity: Supervise orchard activities including pruning, thinning, irrigation, harvesting, and general maintenance to maximise yield and profitability.
Contractor & Workforce Coordination: Coordinate and supervise contractors, managing hours and performance to ensure cost efficiency and effective delivery of orchard programs.
Irrigation & Crop Management: Maintain irrigation programs and monitor crop health to support optimum growth and production outcomes.
Equipment & Infrastructure Oversight: Oversee maintenance and operation of machinery, irrigation systems, and orchard infrastructure to ensure reliability and safety.
Harvest Management: Direct harvest operations to maximise crop intake while minimising waste and inefficiencies.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all activities are conducted in line with workplace health and safety requirements and company policies.
Planning & Reporting: Manage weekly work plans and provide progress updates and reviews to management.
What You’ll Bring
Practical experience in orchard or agricultural operations (tree fruit experience highly regarded)
Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, crop management, and pest/disease control
Experience supervising contractors or teams in a hands-on environment
Ability to operate and maintain agricultural equipment and machinery
Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work programs
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Basic computer skills (Microsoft applications and web-based systems)
Current driver’s licence and forklift licence
Chemical Users Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
