About us
Iluka Resources is a global critical minerals company, with a proud 70-year history, entering a pivotal time of growth.
With a bright future ahead, we are seeking team members for our exciting Balranald operation where we have deployed a new mining technology. Using remotely operated, novel underground mining (UGM) systems to extract key critical minerals.
At Balranald, the processing plant features essential processes, including screening, de-sliming, thickening, spirals, flotation, magnetic separation, and upgrades to optimize mineral recovery. The plant also includes a pond dredging system for fine tails reinjection. Additional activities include managing reagents and handling Rougher Head Feed reclaim. Our onsite laboratory is equipped with advanced testing equipment, including XRF, LST, a float bench, and particle sizers, ensuring quality control and reliable data for plant operations.
About the location
Iluka’s Balranald operation is located just outside of Balranald township in regional south-western NSW.
You can choose to reside locally, or fly-in fly-out from Melbourne. For South Australian residents we will mobilise you via road transport from our Iluka office in Adelaide.

This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation in the mining industry. You will play a critical role in the ramp-up of new equipment and processes, ensuring they are integrated seamlessly into our operations.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Undertake regular plant inspections, complete check sheets, and risk and hazard assessments to ensure a safe environment
Continually monitor plant performance, identifying and addressing abnormalities to maintain optimal operation
Operate fixed and mobile plant in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and safe work instructions
Fill and load reagent apparatus as required
Sample process streams, report and correct any production variances
Undertake all dewatering activities and operate fine tailings injection infrastructure, including dredges
About you
Similar experience in a mining or processing environment
Mechanical aptitude with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting
Flexible approach to take on tasks
Demonstrated commitment to safety, the environment and continuous improvement
Ability to work autonomously and engage cohesively with teams
Front-end-loader, skid steer, Forklift, EWP license desirable
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Valid C Class driver’s license essential
