We currently have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Truck Driver (MR Gang) to join the District Works Mid North Coast team based in Coffs Harbour (01) OR Fernbank Creek (02).

In this role, you'll:
- Carry out general road worker labouring duties of a Road Worker Grade 3
- Operate Light and Medium Rigid vehicles (with a GVM of greater than 4.5 tonnes)
- Operate a truck mounted attenuator
- Tow any trailers that their vehicle is rated to tow.
- Perform maintenance and manual labouring tasks using plant and equipment and powered and non-powered hand tools when not operating the Truck.
- Perform required truck checks and routine maintenance on the trucks you operate.
- Participate in team meetings contributing to continuous improvement for WH&S.
In addition to the above, there may be requirements to work outside of normal working hours and away from home.
This position is based at either our Coffs Harbour or Fernbank depot and forms part of the maintenance team.

About you
We are looking for an experienced Truck Driver who has the capability to work under limited supervision and has experience in maintaining a safe and injury free workplace for all employees while operating in a high speed, high traffic volume environment.
We are seeking those that reside within a 70km travelling distance from the base location (either Coffs Harbour depot or Fernbank depot) as you will be on call when required.
You will have the following tickets and experience:
- White Card
- Medium Rigid Driver Licence
- Labouring experience in a construction or civil environment and experience and understanding of local road networks across the district.
- A strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility.
It is desirable but not essential that you to have
- Traffic Controller Card (stop/go ticket)
- Traffic Control Certification (Implement Traffic Control).
- A higher class of Truck Licence
- Plant operator competences
