THE POSITION:
Join our Major Events team and play a key role in delivering some of Sydney’s most vibrant cultural celebrations, including the Cabramatta Moon Festival and Lunar New Year events. These large-scale events attract tens of thousands of attendees and contribute to the social and economic vitality of the City.
We are seeking a Major Events Project Officer to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, engaging event experiences. Reporting to the Major Events Team Leader, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of major community events. You will act as a key technical expert, ensuring events are creatively developed, well-programmed, and delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Based at our Major Events Office in Cabramatta (a five-minute walk from Cabramatta Railway Station), this role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of one of Western Sydney’s most dynamic and culturally rich communities. ABOUT YOU:
To help assess eligibility, applicants must demonstrate experience, knowledge and capability in the following areas:
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or 5+ years’ relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience delivering events in a team environment
- Strong project management, organisational and time management skills
- Experience preparing event documentation (e.g. schedules, plans, briefs)
- Excellent communication skills across diverse stakeholders
- Strong understanding of WHS, procurement and compliance requirements
- Experience managing marketing activities, suppliers and event programming
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and corporate systems
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- NSW Driver Licence (Class C) and Working with Children Check
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Permanent full-time position, working 35 hours per week
- This position is a Grade 6, with a salary range of $95,321 p.a. with progression to $102,649 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, and performance progression up to $111,656 p.a. plus superannuation.
