Daher’s new Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Stuart, Florida is expanding the company’s aircraft manufacturing footprint in North America by supporting the assembly and delivery of the industry‑leading TBM aircraft. The site brings together production, manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to build world‑class aircraft with a focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence. Job Description
Daher is seeking to hire a Manufacturing Engineering Lead join our new TBM Final Assembly Line in Stuart, Florida. The Manufacturing Engineering Lead (Senior Manufacturing Engineer) is responsible for leading the Final Assembly Line technical support team in Stuart. This role blends strong technical expertise with organizational leadership, ensuring full compliance with type‑design requirements while driving product manufacturability and production efficiency.
As a key partner to the product engineering and manufacturing engineering organizations, the position will maintain a close collaborative link with our “Master” Final Assembly Line (FAL) based in France.
Primary Role and Responsibilities:
- Team and leadership:

Lead a team of 4 to 8 engineers and technicians dedicated to supporting the Final Assembly Line for Daher’s general aviation aircraft (TBM, KODIAK).

Provide day‑to‑day coaching, priority setting, and performance management.

Manage priorities and ensure effective alignment between workload and capacity for the Manufacturing Engineering team.

Technology transfer & ramp-up
-
Drive the technology transfer from the Master FAL in Tarbes (France) to Stuart.

Participate in a structured training period in France and support industrial readiness for the Stuart ramp-up.

Problem Solving: Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions in coordination with HQ Engineering in France.

Change & Configuration Management:
-
Ensure all type‑design changes are correctly integrated into manufacturing plans, work instructions, mBOMs.

Guarantee full compliance with configuration management processes.

Process Design & Optimization:
-
Develop and optimize manufacturing methods, including: mBOMs and routings, procedures and work instructions, station layout and tooling, systems installation, and final assembly processes.

Ensure alignment with type‑design requirements and production best practices.

Continuous improvement:
-
Identify and implement Lean / Six Sigma‑based improvements targeting cost, quality, and throughput.

Support industrial maturity and production stability.
-
Production Support: Review, analyze and validate design change requests from production teams for feasibility, cost impact, and technical justification.

Equipment & Tooling: Evaluate, test, and select production equipment, tools, and materials in collaboration with the tooling team, production and purchasing team.

Cost Analysis: Prepare cost estimates for quotations and make-or-buy decisions.

Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed work instructions, manufacturing procedures, and inspection plans in partnership with Quality.

Metrics & Reporting: Track and analyze manufacturing KPIs, ensuring data‑driven decisions and continuous improvement.

Quality & Compliance: Participate in Material Review Board activities and risk analysis; define and document rework instructions.

Training & Support: Train operators, assemblers, and new engineers on processes, equipment, and best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers to resolve non-conformities and improve supplier performance.

Business Case Development: Build ROI analyses and present recommendations for investments in equipment, processes, and productivity initiatives.

Health, Safety and Environment: Ensure strict compliance with safety and ergonomic standards across all Manufacturing Engineering processes, and hold HSE responsibility for the Manufacturing Engineering team.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering with 10+ years of aerospace experience or A&P mechanic with 20+ years’ experience on a Final Assembly Line, including 5+ years as a manager.

Strong knowledge of aircraft assembly processes.

Proficiency in mBOM / eBOM reconciliation using PLM systems (TeamCenter preferred).

Experienced in creating and maintaining mBOM and routings in ERP (SAP preferred).

Demonstrated success in Lean manufacturing implementation and production line balancing.

Ability to develop comprehensive manufacturing documentation.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project leadership skills.

Effective written and verbal communication across all organizational levels and with suppliers.

Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects independently.

Willingness to travel for up to 3 months in Europe (during the transfer phase).
