Experienced Educator – Before and After School Care
An experienced Before and After School Care Educator is responsible for providing a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for school-aged children before and after their school day. The role involves supervising children, building positive relationships, planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, and supporting their social, emotional, and developmental needs.
Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, organising educational and recreational activities, supporting children with homework and routines, encouraging positive behaviour and respectful interactions, and ensuring children are actively engaged throughout the program. The educator also communicates effectively with families, schools, and other educators to ensure children’s wellbeing and individual needs are supported.
An experienced educator demonstrates strong leadership, communication, organisation, and behaviour-management skills. They are confident working independently and as part of a team, respond appropriately to children’s individual needs, maintain accurate records, follow relevant policies and procedures, and contribute to creating a welcoming and positive experience for every child.
The role requires a genuine passion for working with children, patience, flexibility, sound judgement, and a strong commitment to child safety, wellbeing, inclusion, and learning.
