Position Overview
We are looking for an accomplished Chief Executive / Managing Director to lead the organisation’s strategic direction, operational performance, and long-term sustainability. This role provides executive leadership within the governance framework set by the Board and is responsible for translating strategy into measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate is a senior leader with strong commercial judgement, governance expertise, and the ability to lead complex organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and refine the organisation’s strategic direction, corporate objectives and operating priorities in alignment with Board expectations
- Provide executive leadership and overall management across all business units and functions
- Approve and allocate financial, human and physical resources to support organisational plans and initiatives
- Oversee organisational performance, analysing results against strategic goals, budgets and agreed KPIs
- Lead and collaborate with senior executives, reviewing recommendations, reports and operational proposals
- Ensure robust financial management, including oversight of budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting to governing bodies
- Represent the organisation in senior-level negotiations, stakeholder engagements, industry forums and official events
- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders across areas of responsibility
- Approve the appointment, development and performance management of senior leadership and executive staff
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards, company law and all relevant regulatory and legislative requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Business, Management, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent senior executive experience
- Minimum five years’ experience in a Chief Executive, Managing Director or comparable senior leadership role
- Demonstrated capability in strategic planning, organisational leadership and executive decision-making
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience overseeing budgets and resource allocation
- Proven ability to lead senior teams and influence stakeholders at Board and executive level
- Excellent communication, negotiation and representation skills
- Sound understanding of Australian corporate governance and compliance obligations
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or equivalent
- Experience reporting directly to a Board of Directors or governing body
- Background in organisational growth, transformation or change management
- Experience within the relevant industry or sector

- Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year + Super
