About the Role
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide practical and personal support to residents while promoting their dignity, independence, safety and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting residents with personal care, hygiene, dressing and grooming
- Administering medication in accordance with residents’ care plans and workplace procedures
- Supporting residents with mobility, meals and daily living activities
- Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and reporting any concerns or changes
- Completing accurate progress notes and other required documentation
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Following infection-control, manual-handling and workplace safety procedures
- Working collaboratively with other care staff and management
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or an equivalent qualification)
- A current Administration of Medication certificate
- Previous experience administering medication in a care setting
- Previous experience working as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Current National Police Check
- Valid Australian working rights
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- A compassionate, reliable and professional approach
- Availability to work across a range of shifts, as required
