About us:
A 20-bed facility, Mount Morgan Hospital became a Multi-Purpose Health Service in 2012. Mount Morgan offers a range of health services to the community in a flexible model of care, including emergency, acute inpatient, step-down rehabilitation, postnatal, palliative, residential aged care, limited X-ray services, podiatry, dietetics, diabetes education, optometry, child health, community health, Indigenous health, women's health, dental and shared antenatal care and co-located General Practice.
Mount Morgan MPHS services a population of approximately 3500 people and is an old historic gold mining rural township in the Mount Morgan ranges 39kms from Rockhampton. It is 30 minutes' drive to Rockhampton airport with multiple daily flights direct to Brisbane and 1 hr drive to the Capricorn Coast. Tele-pharmacy services are available at Mount Morgan and supported by Rockhampton Hospital pharmacists to improve medication safety for high-risk clients.
About the role:
This position will be responsible to provide safe, efficient quality medical services to inpatients and outpatients of the Mount Morgan Multi-Purpose Health Service, collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
This position includes undertaking Private Practice at a surgery run management service or by the MSPP co-located within the Mount Morgan MPHS in Morgan Street, Mount Morgan.
Mount Morgan Multi-Purpose Health Service includes the provision of 24-hour emergency department coverage.

About you:
Possess MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Current certificates in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) and Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST).
Post Graduate experience in emergency is highly desirable.
A post graduate qualification (e.g. Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners - FRACGP or Fellowship Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine - FACRRM) while not mandatory would be highly regarded.
Enrolment/Acceptance onto a General Practitioner (GP) training program that will facilitate a provider number with access to Medical benefits for the private practice.
The appointee will be required to undergo a credentialing process and will be granted appropriate scope of clinical practice. There is a system of review and renewal of credentials and Scope of Clinical Practice for Specialists and Non-specialist Senior Medical Officers on staff. This is reviewed on a five-yearly basis. Your qualifications, registration and certified skills and competencies determine the scope of clinical practice you will be granted.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $311,729 p.a. is comprised of:
A salary rate between $187,569 - $199,273 p.a. (MOR1-1 to MOR 1-3)
12.75% employer superannuation contribution
17.5% leave loading
