About the Role
Join CALHN as a Data Engineer and help shape the future of data-driven healthcare. You’ll design, build and deliver modern data platforms that support key priorities across digital health, analytics and artificial intelligence. Working with clinicians, business managers, data analysts and data scientists, you’ll build and optimise data pipelines, integrate complex healthcare data from EMR systems, clinical registries and external providers, and transform information into trusted, high-quality datasets. You’ll bring specialist expertise to create scalable, sustainable data solutions that improve access to meaningful insights, strengthen clinical and operational decision-making, and support innovative healthcare initiatives.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your technical expertise where it matters most, helping turn complex health data into smarter decisions and better outcomes for patients across CALHN.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Design, build, test and deploy modern data platforms and pipelines
- Integrate and transform complex data from multiple healthcare sources
- Optimise data pipelines for fast, reliable access to trusted information
- Create scalable solutions that support analytics, AI and clinical insights
- Provide expert advice on data architecture, modelling and integration
- Partner with clinical, business, analytics and digital teams
- Drive innovative approaches to data access, integration and reuse
- Maintain high standards of data quality, accuracy and performance
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and technology partners
- Deliver quality solutions in a complex, fast-paced digital environment
About You
You’re a skilled data professional who can turn complex information into practical, reliable solutions. You’ll bring strong technical expertise, sound judgement and a collaborative approach, with the ability to communicate confidently across technical and non-technical teams.
- Hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience and certifications
- Bring strong data integration, warehousing and modelling experience
- Apply Snowflake, Denodo, Databricks and Azure Data Factory expertise
- Understand FHIR, HL7, data architecture and BI technologies
- Communicate complex concepts clearly and build trusted partnerships
