Details: Join Digital Canberra and play a leading role in enabling the safe, trusted and effective use of Artificial Intelligence across the ACT Government.
As the Assistant Director, AI Services, you will drive the adoption, delivery and continuous improvement of Whole-of-Government AI services. You will oversee AI service design and lifecycle management, coordinate AI use cases, manage vendor relationships and licensing, and ensure AI solutions deliver measurable value for government and the community.
Working closely with policy, technical, cyber security and governance stakeholders, you will embed privacy, ethical, security and compliance requirements into AI services and provide strategic advice to senior executives on opportunities, risks and emerging trends.

You will help shape the ACT Government’s AI future while ensuring services are secure, responsible and aligned with government priorities.

Experience leading service improvement, innovation and change initiatives.
Eligibility/Other requirements: The successful applicant must be an Australian citizen and possess or acquire and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance at Baseline level as an eligibility qualification. If AGSVA screening is not successful, your employment will not commence or, if already commenced, your employment will be reassessed.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times. This position requires the occupant(s) to be an Australian citizen.
