Permanent Part Time, up to 48 hours per fortnight
Nurses & Midwives Enterprise Agreement – AMUM Year 1 ($60.93 p/h) / AMUM Year 2 ($62.99 p/h)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Maternity & Gynaecology team at West Gippsland Healthcare Group as an Associate Maternity Unit Manager (AMUM). Reporting directly to the Maternity Unit Manager, this key leadership position plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, contemporary and person-centred maternity care.
As a clinical leader and role model, you will support the management, coordination and ongoing development of the Maternity & Gynaecology Unit while assisting with workforce management, quality improvement initiatives, patient care delivery, staff development and service planning. You will deputise for the Maternity Unit Manager as required and contribute to fostering a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.
This role would suit an experienced and motivated Registered Midwife and Registered Nurse who enjoys leadership, mentoring staff, driving quality outcomes and delivering exceptional care to women and their families.
Our preferred candidate will have:
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Significant post-graduate experience in Midwifery and Gynaecology Nursing, with a minimum of 3-5 years demonstrated clinical expertise.
- Experience in a leadership or management role.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to patient-centred care, quality improvement and staff development.
- Ability to lead, motivate and support staff while fostering a positive workplace culture.
The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:
- Experience managing quality improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of privacy legislation and document control requirements.
- Experience with workforce planning, rostering and human resource management
IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
