The Opportunity
The Service Technician works with the hardware and software that drives our distracted driving and speed detection technology solutions and is based at our newly opened depot in Rockhampton. The role is responsible for assembling, deploying and supporting a range of fixed and mobile platforms that integrate radar and camera hardware with operating systems and communications software. Our technologies involve equipment installed at the roadside, real-time sensor and camera interfaces, decision algorithms, machine learning based detection algorithms, file transfer and monitoring systems, web user interfaces and cloud-based infrastructure.
In addition to holding a high level of technical knowledge, electrical skills, mechanical skills and fault-finding abilities, our Service Technicians have the ability to plan and organise work to best serve the interest of Acusensus and our Customers.
This role reports into the Project Engineering Lead based in Brisbane and works in close collaboration with Project Engineers, other Queensland based Service Technicians and Enforcement Trailer Operators.

Highly developed communication skills to liaise with various departments including Enforcement Trailer Operators in the field to identify and troubleshoot a fault in a remote system

Highly disciplined approach to documentation and record keeping to meet QA and QC requirements

Ability to tow and reverse heavy trailers

Commitment to Workplace Health and Safety and continuous improvement
Experience and Qualifications
-
Tertiary (TAFE or University) qualification in either electronic, electrical or computer related fields or relevant demonstrated experience.

Electronic/electrical knowledge and ability to read, create and/or modify technical diagrams, drawings, schematics or plans

Mechanical and small diesel engine knowledge and skills

Fault finding using appropriate knowledge, measurement tools and aids

Be familiar and confident with computers/IT based work, understanding of networking

knowledge of UNIX Systems would be highly regarded,

Command Line and PowerShell experience

Knowledge of Networking equipment (switches, patch panels, VLAN routers, firewalls, VPN, etc.)

Full drivers license
