Cannabis Doctors Tasmania is seeking a doctor to join our growing medical team.
This is a fully remote, flexible role that can be tailored around your existing commitments. Whether you're looking for a few hours each week or a larger sessional workload, you'll have the flexibility to choose when and how much you work.
We are currently experiencing strong patient demand and are actively expanding our team.

What the Role Offers
- Work entirely from home
- Flexible hours between 8am and 9pm, 7 days a week

Remuneration
Doctors are paid a percentage of billings.
Our typical consultation structure is:
- Initial consultations: 30 minutes – $139
- Follow-up consultations: 15 minutes – $99
Indicative earnings:
- Initial consultations: approximately $166–$181+ per hour
- Follow-up consultations: approximately $238–$257+ per hour
Most doctors earn somewhere between these figures depending on their appointment mix. As doctors build their patient base, the proportion of follow-up consultations generally increases.
Expected earnings: approximately $170–$260+ per hour.
About the Role
You will provide telehealth consultations to patients across Australia living with chronic, complex and treatment-resistant conditions.
Your role will include:
- Conducting comprehensive medical assessments via telehealth
- Reviewing medical history and previous treatments
- Assessing whether medicinal cannabis may be clinically appropriate
- Developing individualised treatment and management plans
- Prescribing and monitoring treatment where indicated
- Providing ongoing follow-up and review
- Maintaining high-quality clinical documentation
- Communicating and collaborating with patients' regular GPs and other healthcare providers
Communication and continuity of care are important parts of our model. Patients receive detailed correspondence following their appointments, and regular GPs are routinely kept informed through clinical letters.

Our approach includes:
- Brand-agnostic prescribing
- Patient choice regarding where medications are dispensed
- A focus on affordable treatment options where clinically appropriate
- Structured monitoring and follow-up
- Collaboration with patients' existing healthcare teams
- Appropriate use of oils and oral formulations, while recognising that some patients may achieve better outcomes with inhaled therapies
- Responsible prescribing and clear clinical boundaries
About You
You will ideally have:
- Current AHPRA registration
- At least 3 years of clinical experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence using telehealth and digital systems
- A strong commitment to patient-centred care
- An interest in chronic disease management and complex care
Previous medicinal cannabis prescribing experience is not required. We provide comprehensive training, onboarding and ongoing clinical support.
