Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager, Critical Environments to join our high-performing technical operations team in Norwest, supporting a highly regulated, always-on environment where reliability and precision are essential.
In this role, you will support the ongoing performance, maintenance, and optimisation of complex electrical and mechanical systems that underpin continuous operations. Working closely with internal teams and external service partners, you will help ensure facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with compliance and service requirements.
This position suits someone who enjoys practical technical work, collaborative problem-solving, and working within a structured, safety-focused environment with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support continuous operation of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure to ensure high availability and system reliability
- Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities across key building systems and contracted service providers
- Review, maintain, and apply operational procedures including MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and maintenance documentation
- Monitor building systems (including BMS and related platforms) to support operational efficiency and early issue identification
- Assist in inspections, assessments, and recommendations to improve system performance and energy efficiency
- Ensure all works are completed in line with change management, safety, and compliance requirements
- Prepare accurate reporting across operational activity, vendor works, and financial tracking
- Support incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to support service delivery outcomes
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Trade qualification or technical certification in electrical, mechanical, or building services discipline
- Experience supporting 24/7 high-availability or mission-critical environments
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems (including UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling systems, and BMS)
- Experience working with maintenance documentation (MOPs, SOPs, EOPs) and compliance processes
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and contribute to operational reporting
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with operational systems
Desirable:
- Experience in large-scale or highly regulated technical environments
- Exposure to ISO standards or structured compliance frameworks
- Experience with CMMS or DCIM platforms
- Familiarity with reporting, trend analysis, or operational performance tracking
