Position Purpose
The Factory Support employee is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and efficient manufacturing environment by providing operational support across production, materials handling and general factory activities.
The role contributes to production effectiveness through housekeeping, preparation of materials and equipment, management of consumables, and support of production teams to ensure operational, quality and safety standards are consistently achieved.
Key Accountabilities & Performance Indicators
1.
Factory Housekeeping and Workplace Presentation
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised factory environment, including production areas, walkways, drains, pits, storage areas and workstations.
- Dispose of waste materials in accordance with environmental, quality and safety requirements.
- Complete cleaning schedules and housekeeping tasks in line with operational requirements.
- Ensure work areas remain free from hazards, obstructions and unnecessary materials.
- Support and maintain high standards of workplace presentation
2.
Materials Handling and Inventory Support
- Assist with the safe handling, movement and storage of raw materials, consumables and finished goods.
- Stage materials and equipment to support production activities.
- Monitor consumable stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Manage the storage and handling of IBCs, drums and containers in accordance with company procedures.
- Minimise waste and ensure materials are used efficiently

Equipment Cleaning and Maintenance Support
- Clean and maintain IBCs, drums, containers and designated equipment in accordance with procedures.
- Conduct basic equipment inspections and identify damage, faults or maintenance requirements.
- Report equipment issues promptly to the Production Supervisor or relevant personnel.
- Support routine maintenance activities within training and competency limits
4.
Production Support
- Assist production employees with batching, decanting, filling, labelling and packaging activities as directed.
- Prepare test samples and production materials as required.
- Support production teams to achieve operational targets and workflow requirements.
- Follow all work instructions, SOPs and supervisor directions.
- Escalate operational issues, delays or risks in a timely manner

Systems and Documentation
- Complete required records, logs, checklists and documentation accurately and on time.
- Follow Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements and safe chemical handling procedures.
- Maintain compliance with documented processes, procedures and work instructions.

Work Health, Safety (WHS), Quality and Compliance
- Comply with all applicable WHS legislation, policies, procedures and safe work instructions
- Take reasonable care for personal health and safety, and that of others in the workplace
- Perform duties safely and use equipment, tools and PPE in accordance with requirements
- Identify and report hazards, incidents and risks, and support corrective actions
- Participate in required WHS, quality and compliance training and maintain relevant competencies and licences
- Adhere to ISO 9001 and company quality standards, including following documented processes and procedures
- Present fit for work always and comply with company policies
- Contribute to a safe, compliant and continuously improving workplace

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Basic numeracy and literary skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team environment
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety
Desirable
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or production environment
- Current forklift licence
- Current driver’s licence
- First Aid certificate

Additional Requirements / Working Conditions
- Physical role requiring manual handling, standing, bending and lifting.
