Description:
As a Respite Carer at Coolibah, you’ll play a vital role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care to our clients during their stay at our welcoming respite cottage. You’ll ensure each individual has the best day possible by supporting their independence, dignity, and well-being in line with their care plans and personal goals.
This is a permanent role with the following sleepover shifts, ideally these will be covered by the same person but could be broken into smaller rosters if required.
Week 1 Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday
Week 2 Wednesday, Friday & Saturday
Please note that these are sleepover shifts requiring you to remain on-site from 8:00pm to 7:00am. The shift includes 5 hours of paid work time and a sleepover allowance. Paid working hours are from 8:00pm to 11:00pm and from 5:00am to 7:00am. The period between 11:00pm and 5:00am is the sleepover component of the shift, during which a sleepover allowance is paid rather than hourly wages, unless you are required to perform duties during that time.
What you'll be doing
- Provide personal care, mobility support, social engagement, and medication assistance.
- Promote independence and wellness through goal-directed care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold client confidentiality.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and homely environment for all clients.
- Support continuous improvement and uphold Aged Care Quality Standards.
What you need to be successful in this position:
- Minimum qualification of Certificate 3 in Aged Care or Individual Support (Ageing).
- Experience in Aged care and personal care delivery for a minimum of 1 year in Community
- Ability to work independently and handle manual tasks safely
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Medication Competency Certificate, First Aid & CPR Certificate
