Primary objective
Deliver professional administrative and ICT services, including providing financial and administrative support to the Business
Manager, the Principal and teaching staff in a busy and demanding school environment.
Context Statement
Wanguri Primary School is an urban primary school catering for students from Preschool to Year 6 in the northern suburbs of
Darwin. The school has a rich multicultural school population of approx. 410 students. The school promotes high expectation for
all students through a safe learning environment with a focus on student’s social and emotional wellbeing. The school is committed
to holding high expectations for all students as well as maintaining a culture of continuous improvement, particularly around
analysis of data to improve learning outcomes.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Deliver professional front office reception duties including answering calls, greeting visitors, scheduling appointments and
providing information to the wider school community.
2. Perform data entry and retrieval of data from the Student Administration Management System and other school data systems,
to ensure the integrity and currency of all manual and computerised student records.
3. Administration and ICT facilities and maintenance at Wanguri School including ongoing interactive learning in classrooms.
4. In line with ASIP: investigate and liaise with Principal, ICT Team and Senior Staff with regards requirements, budgeting and
implementation of emerging and leading-edge technologies relevant to learning in an educational environment.
5. Support the Business Manager with processing of purchase orders and goods receipts, banking and elements of Payroll
processing in CiAnywhere.
6. Assist with training of teachers, students, parents and School Council on use of systems and programmes as required.
7. Report on all aspects of ICT to the Principal and liaise with Department of Education, IT Services and external service providers.
8. Undertake areas of e-communication systems used for communicating with parents and stakeholders in the community.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in providing a range of school administrative functions and the use of various school office systems
and applications such as Student Administration Management System, CiAnywhere, MYOB, DOJO, Grade X, Xuno, Audiri,
Passtab, Student Master Index, Functional Solutions Smart suite for Library, Canva, excel spreadsheets, Business Intelligence
Centre and Age Grade Census for reporting.
2. Demonstrated recent experience in working with computers/networking/ICT literacy and knowledge of ICT issues, hardware
repairs and maintenance routinely faced in the NT Schools environment.
3. Demonstrated experience in the management of cash, eftpos and purchasing including reconciling, receipting and banking
monies in accordance with policies and processes.
4. Proven ability to develop and maintain working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse
cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.
6. Ability to monitor own performance and tasks against expected outcomes, deadlines, whilst in a busy, fast-paced work
environment.
7. Current NT Working with Children Notice (Ochre Card) and First Aid certificate or the ability to obtain.
