About the role:
As the Security Operations and Assurance Lead, you will play a key role in protecting Parks Victoria's systems, information and digital services by leading cyber security operations and assurance activities across a complex hybrid environment.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role that combines security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, control uplift and cyber assurance. You will help oversee day-to-day monitoring and response activities, provide expert advice on cyber risk and controls, support audits and assurance activities, and work closely with internal IT teams, business stakeholders and external service providers to strengthen Parks Victoria's overall security posture.
You will also act as a key support to the Manager – Information Security, including providing leadership continuity and technical guidance when required.
We're looking for someone with:

Strong in-depth knowledge of Windows and Azure environments

Demonstrated experience with security tools such as Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, or equivalent SIEM/SOAR platforms

Security certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, SC-200) desirable

Demonstrated experience in cyber security assurance activities, such as control testing/assessment, evidence collection, audit support, and tracking remediation actions to closure

Proven ability to provide support to senior leadership and act as a delegate for the Manager – Information Security
