What does the job look like?
As a Payroll Officer within the Shared Services Group, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring team members across Australia are paid accurately and on time.
Based at our Essendon Fields head office, you’ll process monthly salaried payroll for Linfox Group’s wholly owned Australian entities — working collaboratively within a dedicated payroll team committed to accuracy and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Payroll Team Lead, this is a permanent opportunity ideal for a payroll professional ready to make a real impact in one of Australia’s largest supply chain businesses.
Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Process your allocated portion of the monthly salaried payroll
Set up new starters and process terminations, and manage leave form processing
Maintain payroll records, processing checklists and process documentation
Reconcile leave entitlements including long service, annual and sick leave
Calculate and process off-cycle payments as required
Prepare and distribute monthly payroll costing reports and assist with management reporting

We’re looking for a detail-oriented payroll professional with strong technical knowledge and a genuine commitment to accuracy. You’ll thrive in a structured, high-volume environment and bring practical experience with payroll systems and award interpretation.
The ideal candidate can demonstrate:
3–5 years’ experience in a payroll environment
Hands-on experience working with SAP Success Factors
Good working knowledge of Agreements, PAYG and Superannuation legislation
An Accounting qualification or actively working towards one
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience supporting process improvement
Excellent organisational and time management skills with a high attention to detail
