Details: Are you interested in supporting the Criminal Justice System from within a key senior role?
We are seeking a capable Senior Director to provide backfill for a period of three months from 10 August 2026, with the possibility of extension up to six months, within the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
The role leads a small corporate team that supports keys services such as human resources and financial management, in partnership with the Justice and Community Service (JACS) Directorate. In this fast‑paced environment, you will lead the team, ensure continuity of critical corporate functions, and support the DPP’s broader objectives.
This opportunity would suit someone with strong corporate services experience who is adaptable, decisive, and committed to probity.

Demonstrated high-level experience working within a legal office environment, including proven knowledge of human resource practices and policies.

Proven experience in the preparation and management of complex financial analysis and forecasting, including a working knowledge of the financial reporting program TM1.

Proven experience in developing and implementing organisational strategic plans within the public sector context.

Demonstrated ability to undertake multiple projects, including financial management, whilst working within a fast-paced and complex environment.

High-level written and oral communication and liaison skills, with a proven ability to consult, negotiate and effectively manage competing views.

Demonstrated research and analytical skills, with the proven ability to interpret and apply legislation and policies to support the effective delivery of a range of human resource, financial and governance services and procedures within the ODPP.

This position is assigned to the DPP office, located within the RBA Building, 20-22 London Circuit, Canberra City.
