We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team in Bibra Lake.
Reporting directly to the Regional Manager - WA, the Senior Estimator plays a critical leadership role in securing profitable projects and supporting the strategic growth of the business. This position combines technical estimating expertise with commercial leadership, stakeholder engagement, and business development, ensuring Colas continues to deliver successful outcomes for clients while maintaining industry-leading standards in safety, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Lead and oversee the estimating function for the region, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate, competitive, and commercially sound tenders.

Supervise, mentor, and develop estimators and supporting personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Coordinate tender preparation activities across multiple stakeholders, ensuring submissions are completed to a high standard and within required deadlines.

Provide leadership in the development of pricing strategies, cost plans, and risk assessments to maximise profitability and win rates.

Review and approve quotations, budget estimates, tenders, offers, and expressions of interest prior to submission.

Manage and maintain estimating systems, benchmarking software, and standard cost databases to ensure pricing accuracy and consistency.

Work closely with operational and project teams to identify risks, opportunities, resource requirements, and innovative delivery solutions.

Build, strengthen, and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and industry stakeholders.

Drive effective price management practices across the business while ensuring commercial competitiveness and sustainable margins.

Identify and pursue opportunities to improve tender performance, operational efficiencies, profitability, and market share.

Provide commercial guidance and support to management throughout the tender and project lifecycle.

Lead negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors where required to achieve favourable commercial outcomes.

Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between estimating, operations, finance, and procurement teams.

Contribute to business planning, market intelligence, and pipeline development activities that support regional growth.

Champion and actively promote Colas' commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, quality, and ethical business practices.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Proven experience in an Estimator or Senior Estimator role within civil construction, infrastructure, asphalt, or related industries.

Strong understanding of tendering processes, pricing methodologies, and commercial risk assessment.

Excellent analytical and cost-planning skills with a keen eye for detail.

Experience preparing successful tenders and managing complex project pricing.

Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities.

High level of proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
