Plascare is investing in a dedicated technical trainer for the first time — someone to turn deep product knowledge into confident, capable end-users across our two brands. If you love teaching, thrive in front of a room, and want to own how healthcare staff, wholesaler reps and pest-control operators learn to use our products safely and well, this is a rare part-time role with genuine ownership.
About Plascare
Plascare Aust Pty Ltd is a family-owned Australian distributor with more than 35 years in the market, operating two established brands. Sharpsafe is a trusted name in medical sharps disposal and infection control; VEXO specialises in pest and solar (bird) control products. We supply through a national wholesaler network and are known for product quality and service. As we grow, we are building internal capability to support our partners and end-users directly.
About the Role
Twelve months in, you will have built and rolled out Plascare's clinical sharps-handling training package to healthcare facilities across our wholesaler network, up-skilled branch and pest-control staff on both brands, and become the trusted technical face of Sharpsafe and VEXO on the tradeshow circuit — turning better-trained end-users into stronger, stickier accounts.
You sit alongside our Sales & Marketing Manager, who owns the customer relationships. Your job is enablement and product credibility: you make end-users and channel partners competent and confident, which creates the pull-through demand that grows accounts.
What You'll Do
● Own clinical training: Build and deliver Plascare's clinical sharps-handling training — teaching healthcare staff the safe fitting, use and storage of sharps containers, aligned to the relevant Australian Standards.
● Enable the channel: Train and up-skill wholesaler branch staff and pest-control operators on the correct application, siting and selling of the Sharpsafe and VEXO ranges.
● Front the brands: Represent both brands at tradeshows and industry events — running demonstrations and building product confidence among partners and end-users.
● Be the expert: Act as the product-knowledge backbone for both brands, supporting the sales team and wholesale partners with technical queries.
● Create demand: Develop reusable training materials and resources that create pull-through demand at trained sites and feed account growth.
● Work as a team: Partner closely with the Sales & Marketing Manager so training activity converts into range expansion and reorder growth.
What We're Looking ForEssential
● Demonstrated ability to design and deliver technical or product training to professional audiences.
● A confident, engaging presenter — comfortable running group sessions and live tradeshow demonstrations.
● The ability to rapidly acquire technical product knowledge and translate it into clear, practical teaching.
● Strong interpersonal skills, with the credibility to hold a room of clinical staff and a room of trade / wholesaler staff alike.
● A current driver's licence and willingness to travel intermittently, including occasional interstate trips for tradeshows.
● Australian working rights.
Strongly Desirable
● A healthcare or clinical background or exposure (e.g. nursing, infection control, CSSD, or medical-device) — this carries real weight for the Sharpsafe clinical training.
● Experience in medical / healthcare distribution, pest control, or solar / trade channels.
● Prior channel, wholesaler-enablement or “train-the-trainer” experience.
● Familiarity with the Australian Standards relevant to sharps / clinical waste — or the appetite to learn and apply them.
Terms & Remuneration
● Hours: Permanent part-time, 4 days per week (0.8 FTE), initially weighted approximately 3 days Sharpsafe / 1 day VEXO, rebalancing over time.
● Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 pro rata
● Travel: Reasonable work-related travel costs reimbursed (own-vehicle use at the ATO cents-per-kilometre rate; interstate travel and accommodation against actual receipts). No standing car allowance.
● Location: Based at our Melbourne (Heidelberg West) facility, with periodic interstate travel for tradeshows and events.
● Reporting: Reports to the Managing Director; works alongside the Sales & Marketing Manager.
● Start date: Flexible, targeting early FY27 (approximately August–October 2026).
