The role:
Are you looking for a technical role where you can get out from behind the lab bench and have real influence on quality, customers and major projects?
Join Adbri Concrete as a Quality & Technical Specialist and play a key role in the quality and performance of our concrete and aggregate products across the Northern Territory. Based in Darwin, you’ll support our operations in Katherine and Alice Springs, working closely with customers, operational teams and external laboratories.
This is a highly site-focused technical role, where you’ll have the autonomy and influence to directly impact product quality and customer outcomes. You’ll oversee QA/QC, analyse results, support mix design and process improvement, coordinate testing, conduct quality audits and provide technical guidance across the operation.
What you’ll be doing

-
Review batch, testing and quality data to identify trends, issues and opportunities for improvement
-
Support the development of new mixes and optimise existing products and processes

-
Coordinate external laboratory testing, including scheduling, results and data management
-
Conduct regular customer and project site visits, providing technical support and building strong relationships

During busy periods and major projects, you’ll also work occasional night shifts to support our operations and be on site when it matters most. You’ll also participate in a Saturday on-call roster for escalations.
About you:
You’ll bring strong technical knowledge of concrete and/or aggregate testing, together with the ability to interpret results and understand what they mean operationally.
You could come from a laboratory, technical, engineering or concrete/aggregates background. Experience with mix design, QestLab/QestMix, Australian Standards, Main Roads specifications or NATA requirements will be highly regarded, but we’re also happy to provide training to the right person.
Most importantly, you’ll enjoy getting out on site, working directly with customers and operational teams, understanding challenges and finding practical ways to improve products and processes.
You’ll be comfortable with:
-
Working autonomously and taking ownership of technical outcomes
