The Athenaeum Club, one of Melbourne's most prestigious establishments, seeks a proactive individual to join its Front Desk team to work two (2) night concierge shifts on a casual basis. The night shift is 11pm - 7am and presents a rare opportunity to join a long established highly regarded city Club .
In this role you are the first point of contact and will be responsible for providing a professional, friendly and highly efficient service to members, guests and staff. Duties include greeting members and guests, managing incoming calls, facilitating check-in and check-out, corresponding with international clubs, making reservations and supporting the administrative needs of the club. A big part of the role is security, you will be responsible for ensuring the building is safe and secure on a nightly basis. You will also ensure the gymnasium is clean and ready for members with fresh towels, coffee and amenities, you'll receive the milk and bread deliveries and you'll set the housekeeping team up for success by completing some cleaning tasks during the evening too.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a self-motivated person and have the ability to work unsupervised
- Be a solid and independent character who is able to problem solve
- Be discreet, trustworthy and have great integrity
- Have excellent grooming and personal presentation
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Have the ability to communicate professionally with members and team colleagues
- Have excellent time management skills and be able to prioritise tasks effectively
- Have strong computer and administrative skills - competent in Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher and Mail-merge
- Have basic knowledge of database management
- Have hospitality experience, ideally previous experience in an accommodation management system in a 4 or 5 star hotel
