THE ROLE
Uou'll be a key player in the end-to-end accounting and finance cycle across Scape and Aveo - owning your part of the month-end close process and helping ensure our general ledger information and reporting is complete, accurate and timely.
You'll get exposure across financial close, statutory and management reporting, taxation, budgeting and forecasting, and project accounting - working closely with our Construction, Development, Treasury and Investment Management teams along the way.
Day-to-day you will be (but not limited to):
- Preparing and reviewing month-end tasks, journals and GL reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in line with corporate and tax legislation
- Supporting half-year and year-end audit requirements, including liaising directly with external auditors
- Preparing and reviewing indirect tax bookings, lodgements and tax effect accounting, working closely with external tax consultants
- Managing the intercompany matrix, consolidated balance sheet reconciliations and monthly/quarterly management reporting
- Supporting the preparation of the annual budget, business plan and rolling forecast
- Managing assigned construction project accounting, including funding, budget management and capital expenditure reconciliation
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- CA/CPA qualified accountant with Australian certification
- Proven ability to run end-to-end month-end processes, from transaction recording through to variance analysis and reporting (R2R)
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation and corporate reporting, ideally in hospitality or property
- Experience with a medium to large ERP system, preferably NetSuite
- High proficiency in MS Excel and the broader MS Office suite
- Previous experience in a medium to large private trading company, with strong management and financial reporting experience
- Hands-on experience with development feasibility, WIP/COGS accounting or investment property valuation processes, and experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar tools, will be highly regarded
