Join Cawthron Institute and help shape how our people, science and impact are understood and celebrated internally. We're looking for a Senior Communications Advisor to lead strategic communication initiatives that connect our people to our science and organisational priorities.
This is a senior role that combines communications strategy, trusted advice and hands-on delivery. With a primary focus on internal communications and engagement, you'll work closely with leaders and teams across the organisation to deliver clear, meaningful and impactful communication that supports staff understanding, strengthens culture and brings our purpose to life.

As a Senior Communications Advisor with a focus on our internal audience, you'll lead the development and delivery of communications approaches that support Cawthron's strategic priorities, people and science.

- Develop effective communication practices, strengthen internal channels and help build communication capability across the organisation.
- Provide trusted communications advice and partner with our leaders to develop communication approaches that support key initiatives and organisational priorities.
- Create high-quality content across a range of channels, ensuring communications are consistent, engaging and aligned with Cawthron's brand and strategic direction.

A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, marketing or a related discipline, along with at least five years' experience in communications or similar roles.
- Experience leading internal communications strategy and planning.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to provide practical, trusted internal communications specific advice to leaders and stakeholders.
- Outstanding writing, editing and storytelling skills, with a talent for making complex information engaging and easy to understand.
- Excellent planning and project management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Curiosity about science and its people, with a passion for making complex ideas accessible, relevant and engaging for others.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
