The Langham Hotel Melbourne is currently looking for part-time Porters to join our team. Full availability preferred on a rotating roster, some overnight shifts involved.
You will have the opportunity to work with the Front Office Team which consists of approximately 60 colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity for you to grow your hotel skill set in order to build a career with-in The Langham, shall you be determined and dedicated.
This position is an integral part of a high performing hotel team, and a key contributor to the hotel’s ongoing success.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide a warm welcoming smile for all our guests

Assist guests entering and departing the hotel with luggage

Familiarise the guests with the hotel rooms, facilities, amenities and services

Deliver messages, faxes and other items to guest rooms or other hotel areas

Assist the Doorperson; opening car doors, greeting guests, summoning taxi’s, keeping the Porte Cochere (driveway) clear, loading/unloading luggage into vehicles, labelling luggage & car keys

Monitor cleanliness of the Ground Floor Lobby, Front Driveway, Porters Station & Back Corridor and the Baggage Store

Assist our guests with local attractions and dining

For this role, your attributes will be inclusive of the following:
- Strong work ethic

Be very efficient
- Able to work a variety of shifts– morning / afternoon / night shifts on a rotating roster

Be available for a minimum of 30hours per week

Hold a current manual Australian drivers license
- Immaculate presentation and grooming
- Strong organisational skills
- Eye for detail coupled with a strong ability to proactively identify, prioritise and manage multiple tasks

Successfully accomplish objectives in a busy and challenging workplace

5 star hotel experience is an advantage
