About the Participant
Robert is a calm, friendly and understanding gentleman with a right below-knee amputation. He uses a prosthetic leg for some mobility and a manual wheelchair for much of his community access. This role would suit someone who is patient, dependable and comfortable supporting a participant with physical mobility needs.
What You Will Be Doing

- Community access, shopping and general outings
- Loading/unloading Robert's manual wheelchair
- Assisting with wheelchair accessibility and mobility where required
- Encouraging independence and allowing Robert to complete tasks at his own pace
- Providing companionship and positive social support
- Monitoring general wellbeing and reporting relevant concerns
- Completing clear and professional shift notes
Workers should be mindful of mobility and falls risks and use appropriate safe manual handling practices.

You will need to be reliable, patient, respectful and punctual, particularly for appointment-based shifts. Experience supporting people with amputation, wheelchair mobility, diabetes or physical disability is highly regarded.
Applicants should have a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid & CPR, driver's licence, NDIS Worker Orientation Module, and a registered and comprehensively insured vehicle large enough to transport a manual wheelchair.
