Chef – The Cottage Balmain (Full-time, permanent)
Location: Balmain, Sydney NSW
Salary: $79,500 per annum plus 12% superannuation
About us
The Cottage Balmain is a busy, well-regarded venue in Sydney’s inner west. We’re looking for an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team and help deliver a consistent, high-quality menu.
The role
- Prepare, cook and present dishes to our standard across service
- Plan menus and specials, and control portion sizes and food cost
- Order and manage stock, and monitor quality of ingredients
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and food-safety standards (HACCP)
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff during service
Skills and experience required
- A relevant cookery qualification (e.g. Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery) or equivalent experience
- At least 2–3 years’ experience as a chef in a comparable venue
- Sound knowledge of food-safety and WHS requirements
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as rostered
