About the opportunity
The ADON/M will work in collaboration with Directors of Nursing & Midwifery who have specific responsibility for taking carriage of major portfolios within the Comprehensive Care National Standard
The ADON/M will support Nursing and Midwifery Unit Managers and Divisional Directors as an onsite presence and point of contact for nursing and midwifery issues in the absence of the Director of Nursing and monitor performance and data management to ensure patient care is of the highest quality.
Other key functions include risk management, ensuring professional standards, leadership, monitoring and review of mechanisms which develop high quality patient driven services within available resources, and coordinating special projects at the local level on behalf of Mercy Health and Nursing & Midwifery leadership team.

Knowledge of contemporary nursing and midwifery issues.

Sound understanding of current EBA, contemporary professional nursing and midwifery challenges, including current and emerging best practice operations and quality systems

Sound understanding of Safe Patient Care Act and funding and legal frameworks guiding professional Nursing and Midwifery practice and public health care facilities accreditation
requirements. -
Post graduate degree in Leadership (desirable)
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
