A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Principal Engineer Autonomous Networks and RAN intelligence
A bit about your role
We’re seeking an experienced telecommunications engineering professional with deep expertise in wireless network performance, optimisation, software development and data-driven decisioning. You bring strong domain knowledge across RAN technologies (LTE/5G) and a proven ability to translate network performance challenges into scalable, software-defined solutions.
In this role, you will design and deliver automation frameworks and closed-loop optimisation systems that enable repeatable, safe, and high-impact improvements across the Fixed Wireless network. This includes building platforms and workflows that integrate detection, diagnosis, execution, and validation, supported by robust guardrails and observability.
You will leverage your technical toolkit across network expertise, backend engineering (e.g. Python, SQL), and modern data platforms to develop systems that can operate at scale, improving root cause analysis and optimisation implementation timeframes. Working across RAN and transmission (TX) domains, you will ensure optimisation decisions are made holistically, avoiding downstream constraints and improving end-to-end outcomes.
Success in this role requires both a hands-on engineer and strategic systems thinker who can combine deep network expertise with modern software practices to deliver measurable performance gains and enable progression toward autonomous network operations.
A bit about you
We are seeking a senior engineering professional who operates at the intersection of wireless networks, software engineering, and advanced analytics, bringing both deep technical expertise and strong strategic awareness.
You have demonstrated experience in RAN performance optimisation and large-scale network data analysis, alongside the ability to design and implement automation frameworks or distributed systems. You are comfortable working with complex datasets spanning telemetry, configuration, inventory, and performance, and can translate this into actionable optimisation strategies and production-grade solutions.
You bring strong capability across program delivery, governance, and companywide stakeholder engagement, including working with vendors and influencing outcomes at a senior level. Importantly, you apply AI, machine learning, and agent-based techniques pragmatically—as controlled engineering tools that enhance prioritisation and decision-making, rather than opaque systems.
As a principal-level contributor, you act as a technical authority, shaping engineering optimisation standards, guiding roadmap decisions, and mentoring others to uplift capability across the organisation. You are outcome-focused, collaborative, and motivated by delivering safe, scalable, and high-impact improvements to network performance.
