About the Position:
As a Painter at Blue Way Pty Limited, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying high-quality paint finishes to interior and exterior surfaces across residential and commercial properties. This full-time role covers both new construction and renovation projects, ensuring finishes meet client expectations and comply with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, filling holes/cracks, sanding, and cleaning
- Apply primers, sealers, undercoats, and finishing coats using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Mix and match paint colours according to job specifications
- Protect surrounding areas using drop sheets, masking tape, and other protective measures
- Operate and maintain painting tools and equipment, including scaffolding and ladders
- Maintain a clean, safe job site and follow WHS practices
- Report to the site supervisor and coordinate with the team
Requirements:
- AQF Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of on-the-job experience in painting or decorating
- Sound knowledge of surface preparation, paint types and application techniques
- Ability to work at heights and use access equipment safely
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Driver's licence (preferred)
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
