As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Supply and Distribution Manager to lead and optimise our national supply chain and distribution operations.
About the Role
The Supply and Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end movement of products from procurement and inventory management through to warehousing, transportation, and customer delivery. This leadership role plays a critical part in ensuring product availability, maintaining efficient inventory levels, managing supplier and logistics relationships, and supporting the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply and distribution strategies to ensure timely procurement, storage, and delivery of products while optimising operational costs;
- Plan and manage inventory levels across multiple warehouse locations to support customer demand and business objectives;
- Coordinate purchasing activities and liaise with domestic and international suppliers to maintain reliable product availability;
- Negotiate supplier, warehousing, and freight agreements to achieve favourable commercial outcomes;
- Monitor stock movements, replenishment requirements, and inventory performance through regular reporting and analysis;
- Oversee third-party warehouse operations and ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including the handling of dangerous goods where applicable;
- Manage transportation and distribution activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of products across Australia;
- Review and improve supply chain processes, warehouse systems, and inventory controls to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy;
- Collaborate with sales, finance, operations, suppliers, and logistics providers to support business growth and customer satisfaction;
- Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team, setting performance objectives and driving continuous improvement initiatives;
- Prepare and present supply chain performance reports, forecasts, and recommendations to senior management.
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Commerce, Operations Management, or a related discipline;
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory management, procurement, or distribution operations;
- At least 2 years' experience in a senior management role such as Supply and Distribution Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Logistics Manager, Procurement Manager, or equivalent;
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory control, warehousing, and transportation;
- Strong knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting, supplier management, and distribution networks;
- Experience working with ERP systems, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office applications;
- Proven leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills;
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication abilities;
- Knowledge of dangerous goods storage and transport requirements will be highly regarded.
