In this role, you'll be an essential part of our Mental Health Unit Environmental Services team, helping maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment across our state-of-the-art 102-bed public Mental Health Unit. Working alongside a supportive team of 23 dedicated staff, you'll contribute to the delivery of high-quality environmental services while demonstrating empathy, patience and professionalism in a specialist healthcare setting.

Clean and maintain patient wards, bedrooms, bathrooms and support areas to the highest standards

Perform vacuuming, mopping and general housekeeping duties across the Mental Health Unit

Remove rubbish and waste safely and efficiently in accordance with hospital procedures

Operate floor cleaning machinery and equipment (full training provided)

Follow Infection Control, Workplace Health and Safety and environmental services protocols at all times

Work collaboratively within teams of two or three staff members to achieve daily cleaning objectives

Communicate effectively with team members, patients and hospital staff in a respectful and professional manner

Maintain a positive, patient and compassionate approach when working within a mental health environment

Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards or concerns to supervisory staff
-
Demonstrate honesty, integrity and professionalism while consistently delivering high-quality cleaning services
Remuneration: As per the current enterprise bargaining agreement. (On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $28.71 + superannuation exclusive of penalties or allowances.
About You:

Previous housekeeping, cleaning or environmental services experience is desirable

Available to work the required shift patterns of 0800–1600 and 1100–1900

Ability to work effectively within a team environment

Demonstrated honesty, integrity and strong workplace ethics

Positive attitude with an even-tempered and professional approach

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Empathetic, patient and compassionate in interactions with others

Basic understanding of Infection Control principles
